Farsi Grammar

The Farsi grammar allows you to manipulate the vocabulary to obtain multiple forms of a word. The grammatical rules below are the most important in Farsi and help connect words or shape the structure. We start with the prepositions:

And: و	Under: زیر
Before: قبل از	After: پس از
Inside: داخل	Outside: خارج از
With: با	But: اما
For: برای	From: از
To: به	In: در، طی

Questions and Adverbs

To ask questions, use the following:

What?: چه؟	Who?: که؟ چه کسی؟
How?: چگونه؟	Why?: چرا؟
Where?: کجا؟

Some of the most important time adverbs:

Never: هرگز	Rarely: بندرت
Sometimes: گاهی	Usually: معمولاً
Always: همیشه	Very: بسیار

Most commonly used pronouns in Farsi:

I: من	You: تو / شما
He: او (مرد)	She: او (زن)
We: ما	They: آنها

To express the possession of something [possessive form]:

My: من (مالکیت)	Your: تو / شما (مالکیت)
His: او (مالکیت) (مرد)	Her: او (مالکیت) (زن)
Our: ما (مالکیت)	Their: آنها (مالکیت)

Grammar in a sentence

Some random verbs to show how it's being used:

I speak English: من به زبان انگلیسی حرف می زنم

You speak French: شما به زبان فرانسه حرف می زنید

He speaks German: او به زبان آلمانی حرف می زند

She speaks Italian: او به زبان ایتالیایی حرف می زند

I visited France: من از فرانسه دیدن کردم

I will drink milk: من شیر خواهم نوشید

Some extra grammatical structures:

I understand you: منظور شما را می فهمم

I don't understand you: منظور شما را نمی فهمم

I don't speak French: من فرانسه صحبت نمی کنم

This is my house: این خانه من است

That restaurant is far: آن رستوران دور است
