Kazakh Grammar

The Kazakh grammar allows you to manipulate the vocabulary to obtain multiple forms of a word. The grammatical rules below are the most important in Kazakh and help connect words or shape the structure. We start with the prepositions:

And: және Under: төменде
Before: дейін After: кейін
Inside: ішінде Outside: сыртында
With: бірге But: бірақ
For: үшін From:
To: In:

Questions and Adverbs

To ask questions, use the following:

What?: не? Who?: кім?
How?: қалай? Why?: неге?
Where?: қайда?

Some of the most important time adverbs:

Never: ешқашан Rarely: сирек
Sometimes: кейде Usually: әдетте
Always: әрқашан Very: өте

Most commonly used pronouns in Kazakh:

I: мен You: сен
He: ол She: ол
We: біз They: олар

To express the possession of something [possessive form]:

My: менің Your: сенің
His: оның Her: оның
Our: біздің Their: олардың

Grammar in a sentence

Some random verbs to show how it's being used:

I speak English: мен ағылшынша сөйлеймін
You speak French: сіз французша сөйлейсіз
He speaks German: ол немісше сөйлейді
She speaks Italian: ол итальянша сөйлейді
I visited France: мен Францияға бардым
I will drink milk: мен сүт ішемін

Some extra grammatical structures:

I understand you: мен сізді түсіндім
I don't understand you: мен сізді түсінбедім
I don't speak French: мен французша сөйлемеймін
This is my house: бұл менің үйім
That restaurant is far: ол ресторан алыс
